Private Transfer Milan
& Malpensa to Bressanone
Door-to-door Mercedes with an English-speaking driver from your Milan hotel, Linate, Bergamo or Malpensa arrivals to your hotel in Bressanone, the Plose and the Forestis Dolomites. About 3 h 45 from Milan on the Brenner motorway, with no mountain pass, from €950 per car.
Milan or Malpensa to Bressanone by Private Car
A private transfer from Milan to Bressanone covers about 320 km and takes around 3 h 45: the A4 motorway past Bergamo and Brescia to Verona, then north on the A22 Brenner motorway past Trento, Bolzano and Chiusa to the Bressanone/Varna exit, a few minutes from the old town. From Linate it takes about 3 h 30 and from Bergamo, the closest Milan airport, about 3 h 05. From Malpensa, on the far side of Milan, it is about 4 hours. The price is for the whole car, not per person, and includes fuel, motorway tolls and parking.
The whole route is in Italy, on the motorway, with no border, no tunnel toll and no mountain pass, so it is open all year. By train the trip means a change in Verona with your luggage, and for hotels on the Plose a taxi or bus on top. With a private car you go from arrivals or your Milan hotel straight to your door.
We drive to every hotel in Bressanone and the Valle Isarco, to Novacella Abbey, to the Plose ski area and regularly up to the Forestis Dolomites hotel at Palmschoss, about 1,800 m up the Plose, and on request into the Val di Funes. Check your price and book online →

Is there a mountain pass on the way to Bressanone?
No. The route is motorway all the way to the Bressanone/Varna exit, open all year. Mountain passes in the area, such as the Passo delle Erbe towards Val Badia, are narrow and can close or need chains after snowfall, so we do not use them in winter.

Which Airport for Bressanone: Verona, Bergamo, Linate or Malpensa?
Verona is the closest major airport to Bressanone, about 2 h 10 by car, and transfers from there are on request. Of the Milan airports, Bergamo is the closest at about 3 h 05, then Linate at about 3 h 30 and Malpensa at about 4 hours, on the far side of Milan. Malpensa has the most long-haul and international flights, so many of our guests land there and drive straight round Milan to South Tyrol.
Bressanone, the Plose and the Valle Isarco
Bressanone, Brixen in German, is one of the oldest towns in Tyrol, a bishop's seat for centuries, with its cathedral, cloister and the Hofburg palace in a compact old town where the Isarco and Rienza rivers meet. Novacella Abbey, just north of town, is known for its library and its white wines, and from late November Piazza Duomo hosts a Christmas market. Above the town the Plose has its own ski area, and the Val di Funes, below the Odle peaks, is a short drive away.
Forestis Dolomites: Getting There
The Forestis Dolomites stands at Palmschoss, at about 1,800 m on the Plose above Bressanone. From the motorway exit it is about 20 km of mountain road, around 30 minutes, with no pass to cross. In winter the road is cleared for the Plose ski area, and our cars are winter-equipped. We drive to the hotel entrance and collect you there for the trip back to Milan or Malpensa.
Practical Tips: Saturdays and the Drive Back
Saturday is change-over day in the Dolomites and the A22 Brenner motorway can be slow between Bolzano and Verona, so we plan extra time. For an afternoon flight from Malpensa, we usually suggest leaving Bressanone about six and a half hours before take-off, and about seven hours from the Forestis.
