Milan or Malpensa to Val Gardena by Private Car
A private transfer from Milan to Val Gardena covers about 315 km to Ortisei and takes around 3 h 45: the A4 motorway past Bergamo and Brescia to Verona, then north on the A22 Brenner motorway past Trento and Bolzano to the Chiusa exit, and up the valley road to Ortisei, Santa Cristina and Selva. From Linate it takes about 3 h 35 and from Bergamo, the closest Milan airport, about 3 h 05. From Malpensa, on the far side of Milan, it is about 4 hours. The price is for the whole car, not per person, and includes fuel, motorway tolls and parking.
The whole route is in Italy, with no border, no tunnel toll and no vignette. By public transport the trip means a train from Milan to Verona and Bolzano and then a bus up the valley: four and a half to five hours with two changes and your ski bags on every step. With a private car, many of our guests land at Malpensa, Linate or Bergamo in the morning and are on the Sella Ronda the next day, rested.
We drive to every hotel and chalet in Ortisei, Santa Cristina and Selva di Val Gardena, and on request to Castelrotto and the Alpe di Siusi, all on the Dolomiti Superski area. Check your price and book online →

Val Gardena, the Sella Ronda and the Dolomites
Val Gardena is a Ladin-speaking valley in South Tyrol, below the Sella, Sassolungo and Odle groups of the Dolomites, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Its three villages, Ortisei, Santa Cristina and Selva, sit on the Sella Ronda ski circuit and the Dolomiti Superski area, and every December the Saslong slope in Santa Cristina hosts a men's downhill of the Ski World Cup. From Ortisei, cable cars climb to Seceda and to the Alpe di Siusi, the largest high-altitude meadow in Europe.
Practical Tips: Saturdays, Ski Bags and the Drive Back
Saturday is change-over day in the Dolomites and the A22 Brenner motorway can be slow between Bolzano and Verona, so we plan extra time. Tell us how many ski bags you travel with so we send the V-Class if needed. For an afternoon flight from Malpensa, we usually suggest leaving Val Gardena about six and a half hours before take-off, and about five and a half hours for Linate or Bergamo.
