Private Transfer Milan
& Malpensa to Bolzano
Door-to-door Mercedes with an English-speaking driver from your Milan hotel, Linate, Bergamo or Malpensa arrivals to your hotel, office or address in Bolzano, the capital of South Tyrol. About 3 h 15 from Milan on the motorway, all in Italy with no mountain pass, from €830 per car.
Milan or Malpensa to Bolzano by Private Car
A private transfer from Milan to Bolzano covers about 280 km and takes around 3 h 15: the A4 motorway past Bergamo and Brescia to Verona, then north on the A22 Brenner motorway through the Adige valley past Trento to the Bolzano Sud exit, a few minutes from the centre. From Linate it takes about 3 h 05 and from Bergamo, the closest Milan airport, about 2 h 35. From Malpensa, on the far side of Milan, it is about 3 h 30. The price is for the whole car, not per person, and includes fuel, motorway tolls and parking.
The whole route is motorway, in Italy, with no border, no tunnel toll and no mountain pass, so it is open all year, also in the middle of winter. By train you need to change in Verona and carry your luggage between platforms, and from Malpensa you first have to get into Milan. With a private car you go from the airport arrivals hall or your Milan hotel straight to your door in Bolzano.
We drive to every hotel and address in Bolzano, to the Fiera Bolzano exhibition centre, to the Christmas market in Piazza Walther, and on request on to the Renon plateau, Lake Carezza and the Dolomites valleys. For Merano, Bressanone, Val Gardena and Alta Badia we have dedicated pages. Check your price and book online →

Which Airport for Bolzano: Verona, Bergamo, Linate or Malpensa?
Verona is the closest major airport to Bolzano, about 1 h 45 by car, and transfers from there are on request. Of the Milan airports, Bergamo is the closest at about 2 h 35, then Linate at about 3 h 05 and Malpensa at about 3 h 30, on the far side of Milan. Malpensa has the most long-haul and international flights, so many of our guests land there and drive straight round Milan to South Tyrol.
Bolzano, Capital of South Tyrol
Bolzano, Bozen in German, is the capital of South Tyrol, a bilingual city of arcaded streets between Italy and the Austrian world. Its South Tyrol Museum of Archaeology keeps Ötzi, the 5,300-year-old Iceman found in the glacier above the Val Senales, and from late November Piazza Walther hosts one of the best-known Christmas markets in Italy. Cable cars climb to the Renon plateau and the city is the gateway to the western Dolomites: Val Gardena, the Alpe di Siusi and Lake Carezza are all within an hour.
Practical Tips: Saturdays, Trade Fairs and the Drive Back
Saturday is change-over day in the Dolomites and the A22 Brenner motorway can be slow between Bolzano and Verona, and the Christmas market weekends are busy in town, so we plan extra time. For an afternoon flight from Malpensa, we usually suggest leaving Bolzano about five and a half hours before take-off, and about four and a half hours for Linate or Bergamo.
