San Siro, the stadium of two clubs

Milan is one of the few cities where two great clubs share one ground. The Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, known to everyone as San Siro, opened in 1926 and has been home to both AC Milan and Inter since 1947; its spiral access towers and red roof girders are recognisable around the world, and in February 2026 it hosted the opening ceremony of the Milano Cortina Winter Olympics. In November 2025 the two clubs bought the stadium from the city and plan to build a new one nearby, so this is a good moment to see the old ground. For trips outside the city, see our day trips from Milan.

The official stadium tour takes you through the stands, the dressing rooms and the players’ tunnel to the edge of the pitch, and the museum holds shirts, trophies and memorabilia of both clubs. With a car, the day can add Casa Milan and its Mondo Milan museum, the club stores and the sights of the centre. The price is per vehicle, not per person: from €600 with an E-Class for two, from €680 with a V-Class for up to six.

Frequently Asked Questions

San Siro Stadium Tour — FAQ

How far is San Siro from the centre of Milan?
About 7 km west of the Duomo, 20 to 30 minutes by car depending on traffic. Your driver drops you at the tour entrance and waits nearby.
How much does a private football day in Milan cost?
From €600 per car with a Mercedes E-Class (up to 2 passengers) and from €680 with a V-Class (up to 6), for 8 hours with 150 km included. Weekends are +20%, major holidays +50%, extra hours €75 or €85. Tour and museum tickets are separate.
Can we visit San Siro on a match day?
Access is limited on match days and on days with concerts or other events, and parts of the tour can close. Book the tour on the official San Siro website for a date without a home game, and check again a few days before.
Can you get us match tickets?
No, we do not sell match tickets. Buy them from the official AC Milan or Inter websites. We can drive you to the stadium and collect you after the final whistle with extra hours, which saves the crowded walk to the metro.
Will San Siro be demolished?
The clubs bought the stadium from the city in November 2025 and plan a new stadium on the site, but for now the Meazza is still their home and the tour and museum are running. Check before you travel.
Is a guide included?
No. Your driver is not a licensed tour guide and does not guide inside the stadium, but knows Milan well and can recommend places, restaurants and club stores and give practical tips. The stadium tour itself follows the official route; a licensed city guide can be booked on request.

San Siro by private car or by metro?

The M5 metro line stops at San Siro Stadio, and on a normal day it works well. But if you also want Casa Milan, lunch and the centre, a private car joins everything without changes, and it waits for you outside instead of leaving you to queue on the platform after a match.

What to know before visiting San Siro

Book the stadium tour in advance and avoid home-game days. The tour involves stairs and a good deal of walking around the stands. The San Siro area also has the racecourse with Leonardo’s Horse, the large bronze statue based on Leonardo da Vinci’s designs, a few minutes from the stadium.

How much is a San Siro tour with a driver?

MilanobyCar charges a fixed price per car: from €600 for two passengers in a Mercedes E-Class and from €680 for up to six in a V-Class, for 8 hours including driver, fuel and parking. The exact price for your date appears in the booking form.
