Milan’s fashion streets, with a car at your side

Milan is where much of Italian fashion is designed, shown and sold. The Quadrilatero della Moda, the grid of streets between Via Montenapoleone, Via della Spiga, Via Sant’Andrea and Via Manzoni, holds the flagship stores of almost every major house within a few minutes’ walk. A short way off are the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, opened in 1867, where Prada opened its first shop in 1913, the Rinascente department store on Piazza del Duomo, and 10 Corso Como, the concept store founded by Carla Sozzani in 1990. If you want to leave the city for the day instead, see our day trips from Milan.

A shopping day is easier with a car: your driver drops you at the start of each street, waits nearby, keeps your purchases locked in the boot and takes you on to the next district, the hotel or lunch. No taxis to find, no bags to carry. The price is per vehicle, not per person: from €600 with an E-Class for two, from €680 with a V-Class for up to six.

Milan Shopping Day Itinerary

An 8-hour day that follows the shops’ opening hours, with lunch in the middle and the car always close by.

Tailor-made, always. This itinerary is our suggestion only: every MilanobyCar day trip is tailor-made. Change the stops, the order and the timing as you like, or tell us your own plan in the booking notes.

Your driver, your local insider. Our chauffeurs are not licensed tour guides and do not guide you inside museums or sites, but they know these places well from years on the road: ask them for the best viewpoints, where to eat, where to stroll and how to avoid the busiest spots. If you would like a licensed guide, we can book one for you.

Frequently Asked Questions

Milan Luxury Shopping Tour — FAQ

How does a shopping day with a driver work?
Your driver picks you up at your hotel and stays with you for 8 hours. You decide the order of the streets; the car drops you, waits nearby and keeps your purchases locked inside until the end of the day. Distances in central Milan are short, so most moves take five to fifteen minutes.
How much does a private shopping day in Milan cost?
From €600 per car with a Mercedes E-Class (up to 2 passengers) and from €680 with a V-Class (up to 6), for 8 hours with 150 km included. Weekends are +20%, major holidays +50%, extra hours €75 or €85.
Can the car drive into the Quadrilatero?
Part of the fashion district, including Via della Spiga, is pedestrian, and central Milan has traffic restrictions. Your driver drops you at the nearest point to each shop and collects you at an agreed corner, which is quicker than looking for a taxi.
Can we claim back VAT on purchases?
Visitors who live outside the European Union can usually claim back Italian VAT on goods taken home, above a minimum spend per receipt. Ask each shop for a tax-free form and have it validated at customs at the airport when you leave.
Can we add a stop outside Milan?
Yes. With the 150 km included you can add an outlet visit or a trip to FoxTown in Switzerland. See our FoxTown day trip for a full outlet day.
Is a guide included?
No. Your driver is not a licensed tour guide or personal shopper and does not come into the shops, but knows the city well and can recommend streets, cafés and restaurants and give practical tips. A licensed local guide can be booked on request.

Shopping in Milan with a driver or by taxi?

Taxis in central Milan are not always easy to find at the right moment, and carrying bags from street to street gets tiring. With a private car the same driver stays with you all day, your purchases are safe in the boot, and the end of the day can be the airport instead of the hotel.

What to know about shopping in Milan

Most boutiques in the Quadrilatero open around 10:00. The fashion weeks, Design Week in April and the Christmas period are the busiest times; for exclusive pieces, some houses offer private appointments, which are best arranged directly with the store before you arrive.

How much is a Milan shopping tour?

MilanobyCar charges a fixed price per car: from €600 for two passengers in a Mercedes E-Class and from €680 for up to six in a V-Class, for 8 hours including driver, fuel and parking. The exact price for your date appears in the booking form.
