Private Transfer from Milan to Zermatt — Direct, Fixed Price
MilanobyCar has been running private transfers from Milan to Zermatt since 1993. We cover the full route door-to-door: from your hotel, apartment, or office in Milan city centre directly to the Tasch valley terminal — the closest point a private vehicle can reach before Zermatt's car-free zone begins.
The route covers approximately 220 km and takes around 3 hours in normal traffic conditions. We travel via the A8 and A26 motorways to Gravellona Toce, then take the SS33 over the Simplon Pass (Passo del Sempione) — crossing into Switzerland at 2,005 metres altitude — then descend to Brig and continue north through the Valais to Tasch. In winter during peak ski season, allow an additional 30–45 minutes.
Your price is fixed and agreed before travel — no meters, no tolls added on top, no surge pricing because it is a Friday or a peak ski weekend. One price, one confirmation, one driver.
We are not an aggregator or booking platform. Every vehicle in our fleet is our own, every driver is employed directly by us. When you book a Milan to Zermatt private transfer with MilanobyCar, you deal with us from first message to final drop-off.
Zermatt is Car-Free — Your Transfer Ends at Tasch
Private vehicles are not permitted to enter Zermatt village. Here is exactly how your arrival works.
From Tasch to Zermatt — the Final 5 km
Zermatt has been car-free since 1947. All private and commercial vehicles must stop at Tasch, the last village in the Matter Valley before Zermatt. Our driver drops you off directly at the Tasch valley terminal (Talstation), where your luggage is unloaded at the entrance.
From Tasch, the Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn shuttle train runs every 12 minutes and covers the 5 km to Zermatt in approximately 12 minutes. The fare is around CHF 12 per person each way and tickets can be purchased at the terminal. Your hotel in Zermatt can also arrange an electric taxi from the Zermatt station if needed.
We recommend building 20–30 minutes into your schedule after drop-off in Tasch before your check-in time, to account for the shuttle and any luggage logistics in the village.
