This is one of the most common situations I encounter, and it is completely manageable — as long as you plan for it. Many long-haul flights from the US, Asia and the Middle East arrive at Malpensa early in the morning. Most hotels and lake apartments have check-in from 2pm or 3pm at the earliest. That leaves you with several hours, luggage in hand, on the first day of your holiday.
My suggestion: do not rush straight to the hotel only to wait in the lobby. Instead, use the time well. I can take you on a short stop along the way — drop your bags in the car, stretch your legs, have a proper Italian coffee and breakfast, and arrive at your hotel refreshed rather than exhausted. Here are the stops I recommend depending on your destination and flight time.

What if my flight is delayed?

How many people and bags can you accommodate?
